Blog Overhaul
I've gotten so many emails that this blog must have an overhaul. I agree. It can no longer be titled..."And Baby Ellis Makes Three..." I'll be sure to let everyone know the new link, if necessary. Of course, with two kiddos on the way, the title must change!
Thank you to everyone. It is so great to know that others are just as excited as we are!

And the Winner Is...
Larry and I had our ultrasound today. It was so great. So, I'm sure everyone is excited to know whether we are having a boy or a girl. We have had so many people say they think it is a boy and others are adamant that it is a girl. Well, everyone is right! Yep, Larry and I are having twins...a boy AND a girl!
I know that you must think I'm kidding, but I'm not at all. We hadn't even expected twins, but it was very clear today that there are two babies with two heart beats. We are so lucky to be having one of each.
We had already decided on names for a boy and a girl, but thought we'd only be using one of them with this pregnancy. It's a good thing we planned for either. We will name the boy Parker Reid and the girl Emma Claire.
Emma is on my left side and weighs 11 ounces today. Parker is on my right and weighs 12 ounces today. They both seem to be very healthy and doing well. We are obviously feeling so blessed by God's gifts!
In my earliest post, I said that as soon as we knew the baby's gender, the decorating would begin. Well, now we have some additional planning to think about...two cribs, two sets of bedding, a double stroller, etc!
I'll be posting the video of our ultrasound this evening. It's our kiddos first public appearance. We will keep you updated.

The Big Reveal!
We only have to wait one more week until we know the baby's gender! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he/she isn't shy. I'm guessing if this kiddo is anything like its parents, we should be just fine!
The baby has gotten much more active and moves around pretty constantly. I haven't felt any unmistakable kicks yet, but the little gymnast does lots of somersaults. It could be up to four more weeks before I feel any kicks, but I'll be optimistic and say it will be any day. The baby already loves the Razorbacks. Every time we go to a game or I watch on TV, he or she seems to be calling the hogs!
We had a great Thanksgiving. Larry and I got to spend time with his sister and her family. We also spent a few days with my brother and his family. The holidays are such a great time of the year to be pregnant.
Everyone keep your fingers crossed that next Friday, baby Ellis won't be shy.

17 Weeks and Counting
It has been a while since I last updated the blog. The baby has been growing so much. Larry and I went for our 4 month appointment on November 9 and got to hear the heartbeat again. It is amazing how one month will change the strength of the heartbeat so much. I decided to post the 12 week heartbeat and the 16 week heartbeat so you can see the difference, too.
This week (17 weeks), the baby is about five inches long and weighs about 3.5 ounces. From this point on, the baby will start to put on quite a bit of weight. It's so exciting because I am just now starting to show and look noticeably pregnant!
We have made decisions about the nursery furniture, car seat and stroller, etc. and are waiting patiently to find out what the little one is. I love seeing the votes for whether you think it is a girl or boy. Larry thinks it's a girl and I have a hunch it's a boy. Either way, one of us is right and we will both be ecstatic regardless of the baby's gender.
We received great news that my maternity leave will be paid! That is such great news. It never has made sense that when you need an extra paycheck the most, you don't get it! We are so blessed.
Since there will be so many changes in the coming weeks, I will be sure to update the blog more frequently than each month. Thanks for keeping up with us!

Surprise! We are having our first baby.
Yep, that's right. Larry and I are expecting our first child. We are at 12 weeks now. Larry and I had our second doctors appointment yesterday, and we heard the heartbeat for the first time. The doctor also said that he could hear the little one kicking. Good news...he/she is an active one. It was great confirmation that this is really happening.
The baby should arrive around April 25, 2008, so mark your calendar!
We decided to keep a blog of this big event so that everyone can stay informed with the events of the pregnancy and birth. It will also be a great reminder (around 37 weeks) of how far we will have come.
We are so excited and anxious for the upcoming months. There is so much planning, but a lot of waiting. This weekend, we are going to order the crib and other nursery items. When we find out what this little peanut is, the decoration will begin!
It is so wonderful to have people to share this time with. Please check the blog any time. I will update it as often as there is something to report. Also, please vote on what you think the peanut will be!
